A look at the Winners of DPT July 2018 1 Crore GTD Main Event

It was a roaring success!

The July 2018 edition of Deltin Poker Tournament proved tremendously successful, as it witnessed huge participation of amateurs as well as pros from all over the country. It was a 4-event extravaganza, powered by Adda52.com, which was held from 26th to 29th July aboard Deltin Royale – India’s most luxurious offshore cruise casino in Goa.

DPT 1 Crore GTD – Main Event

The excitement surrounding the biggest event of the series – DPT 1 Crore GTD Main Event was unprecedented, as record-breaking 457 players registered in hopes to claim the prestigious title and win the massive prize pool. What made this event more special was the assured minimum pay-out of INR 70,000 to the top 49 finishers.

Awnish Singh emerged as the ultimate champion who hoisted the winners trophy and bagged Rs. 35,04,000 as 1st place prize. It was Singh’s first-ever live tournament and he successfully managed to top the field of 457 players to collect his best live tournament cash. He defeated Vidur Singhal in heads-up who pocketed INR 22,74,000 as the runners-up prize.

The Final Table

After Nitin Arora eliminated at 10th place on Day 2, the Final Table battle resumed on Day 3 (Monday) with 9 remaining players.

Awnish Singh reached the final table with 905,000 in chips against Ankur Sehgal with 29,01,000 , Sailesh Lohia with 24,55,000, and Vidur Singhal with 17,45,000 in chips.

Earlier Sailesh Lohia was leading the table with the highest number of chips but he was eliminated at 4th place by Singhal. Lohia took home INR 11,28,000.

Singh managed to run his stack up and made it to the 3-handed play against Bhuvan Bansal and Vidur Singhal.

Bansal’s final table journey ended at the 3rd place. He was eliminated by Singhal to set up a heads-up with Singh. Bansal walked away with the 3rd prize INR 14,60,000.

The Final Hand

Singh locked horns against Singhal in the heads-up play. Singhal was leading the chip count (7.6 Million in chips) and Singh was at 4.4 Million. As the game progressed, Singh changed his gameplay from passive to highly aggressive. In the final hand, Singh had Qs and 4h. Singhal was dealt Kc and 5c. The flop came down Kh 3d 7h and turn showed 5h. Singh moved all-in and Singhal called. The river revealed 3h which completed Singh’s flush. Singhal exited the tournament, leaving Singh to win the pot and secure the DPT July 2018 Main Event title.
