The Indian Gaming Act’s Section 11 exonerated poker from being subjected to any penal provisions of the 2 laws governing gambling which were framed way back in 1957. Further, on 27th July 2007, the Bangalore High Court had decreed that organizing live poker does not come under the purview of Karnataka Police Act 1963 or 1986s License of Controlling of Places of Public Amusements.
